ibuypower masters 2019

iBUYPOWER Masters 2019 is upon us. This year’s edition brought together 8 highly skilled teams from all over the world. They will fight for their share of $200,000 prize pool. Action will take place in front of the sold-out venue in Los Angeles, California. Unfortunately, we will only enjoy this event for two days, starting with January 19th.

EGB.com is already prepared for this event. This bookmaker offers the best odds on outright and special bets, so we here at Esportsbite advice you to use this bookmaker. Furthermore, you can read our detailed review of EGB.com right here.

iBUYPOWER Masters 2019 winners odds

As you can see, bookmakers are heavily favoring Astralis in this one, and there is a reason for that. Danish roster was unstoppable in 2018, and they are not going to stop. Betting on them would be a safe bet, however, it would not yield so much profit, especially for an outright bet.

If you really want to go outright hunting, then FaZe would be an ideal choice for you. They finally got rid of their worst player, karrigan, and now that they have a new coach and Dauren “AdreN” Kystaubayev, they are looking really scary. Furthermore, odds are great on FaZe winning this one, betting on them would really make you a lot of money. Hopefully, Nikola “Niko” Kovač recharged his batteries for iBUYPOWERMASTER 2019.

Groups and format

iBUYPOWER Masters 2019 is not different from other popular CS:GO tournaments. They use a standard double-elimination format. Furthermore, 8 teams are split into two groups of 4. Only the top two teams from each group will advance through to the playoffs of iBUYPOWER Master 2019.

Group matches will be played in a best-of-1 format. On the other hand, playoffs will be played in a best-of-3 series. Furthermore, single-elimination bracket has been put in place, so there are no second chances for anyone in this event, no matter how good they played in the group stage.

Group A

  • Astralis
  • Cloud9
  • CompLexity
  • Fnatic

There is no denying it, Astralis is going to top this group for sure. However, we will see a big fight between these teams for that second place that leads to the playoffs. I feel like fnatic has a chance in this one, mainly because they are the only team besides Astralis who are playing with their standard roster, without any stand-ins. Furthermore, this is probably fnatic’s final chance of winning something. If they do not step up in this event, who knows if organization will call for changes.

Lastly, betting against compLexity and Cloud9 could yield you profits, since both of these teams are playing without their standard players. I am talking mainly about compLexity here, they are going through huge changes, and there is no way they can be a threat for anyone in this group.

Group B

  • FaZe
  • Ghost
  • Luminosity
  • Liquid

Contrary to group A, this is going to be a slaughter. Everyone made roster changes in this group, except Ghost. However, they are not considered as favorites in any of their games, and in my personal opinion, they will sit on the bottom of this group after their matches are concluded.

However, both Liquid and FaZe made some significant changes, and it is going to be interesting to see how well they adapt. Personally, I have my money on FaZe in this one, since they look like a stronger team, especially now that Liquid lost their support player, and they did not find an adequate replacement.

To conclude, Liquid and FaZe will probably advance through to the playoffs, while Luminosity and Ghost will have a hard time battling for that #3 spot. It would be smart to bet against Ghost and Luminosity, but that would not bring a lot of profits.

Opening matches

  • Astralis – compLexity
  • Fnatic – Cloud9
  • Liquid – Luminosity
  • FaZe – Ghost
